How to Use the TotalSpectrum MINI
- Use once a day
- Use at any time of day, but use in the morning if you have insomnia (bright light can cause circadian rhythm issues); alternatively, use dark eye goggles in the evening, and they will help you sleep.
- Use before adding lotions and makeup.
- Take a photo in the same lighting every day to measure your results
- Use a ruler to measure 6-12 inches from the light to your target skin (head, neck, etc.)

My Take
TotalSpectrum MINI is a powerful red light therapy device that reduces wrinkles, lines, sagging, scars, and inflammation. It’s a large tabletop that will easily shine from the forehead to the neck area. This makes it great for wrinkles on the face and sagging skin on the neck.
Lacking yellow or green light is not perfect, but given its six wavelengths in red and infrared, it will do an excellent job regardless. These wavelengths of red and infrared light tackle at least 85% of acne and eczema, possibly reducing the problems by 100%. The ideal acne/eczema light has blue and yellow (or green) wavelengths. Blue kills P. acnes bacteria. Yellow and green add to red and infrared’s ability to calm inflammation and redness.
The MINI is easy to use and quite comfortable, especially because of its strength. You can sit back and still get a significant dose of light. The MINI accepts vocal commands, so using it is as easy as having this conversation:
“Hey, red light!” (Answer: “Hey!”)
“Turn on the light.” (Answer: “OK”)
“Run Skin Care mode.” (Answer: “OK. Skin Care mode is on.”)
You can also use “touch” mode to use the MINI. Press the power icon, then the skincare icon. That’s it; you’re doing red light therapy.
The MINI is the red light therapy I’d buy for facial skin therapy and the best device on this list to give as a gift. It’s very easy to use, with 7 presets for everything from skin health to pain relief. You can turn it on by saying, “Hey, Red Light!” and “Turn on skincare.” That’s all you need to do, so it’s great for someone who doesn’t want to “learn” a new device.
