Mito Red Light Therapy Review 2025: How to Save Money Buying

No one could blame you for getting confused sorting through the Mito Red Light panel choices.
Mito sells three families: Mito PRO+, Mito PRO X, and Mito Advanced.
Which one is the best Mito Red Light panel?
Should we assume that the most expensive one is the best?
I sifted through every feature Mito Red Light sells to find the answer.
The most expensive is not the best!
I’ll show you how to spend less money to get faster, more penetrating therapy sessions.
Takeaways
- The biggest bang for your buck is the MitoPRO X family.
- The MitoPRO MegaX is the most cost-effective model within the MitoPRO X line.
- The MegaX gives you five wavelengths, 1200 lights, and a full-body 64 inches of therapeutic light.
- The MegaX is better than the more expensive Mito Red Light panels.
- All models within a family have the same features, so any size of MitoPRO X is the best choice.
Mito Red Light Therapy Review: Best Panel Edition
Mito Red Light offers three lines of panels: MitoADAPT, MitoPRO+, and MitoPRO X. Each version comes in sizes from tabletop to full-body panel. Choose the model based on the features you’ll learn about in this article. Then, choose the size from that model’s options. Then, start healing.
Compare Mito Features

The features in each model are the same across panels of different sizes. The MitoPRO X tabletop has the same wavelengths and power as the MitoPRO X Mega. It’s the same therapy from a small panel as from a large one. The information about power and wavelengths applies to the sizes in the group.

Panel Sizes
The panel size tells you how much of your body you will treat in one session. For example, a tabletop will shine a light on your head and neck, but now you need to do a second session for your torso and then a third for your legs. And now do the back of your body three times! But the head and neck size is perfect if you’re doing red light therapy for the face and not the rest of your body.

MitoADAPT models include MIN, MID, MAX, and MEGA. The MitoADAPT sizes include (based on a five ft. six in. person’s height):
- The MIN is 12 inches tall (1/5 body)
- The MID is 24 inches tall (1/3 body)
- The MAX is 36 inches tall (1/2 body)
- The MEGA is 65 inches tall (1 1/5 body: taller than you)
MitoPRO+ and MitoPRO X models include 300, 750, 1500, and MEGA. The MitoPRO+ and MitoPRO X sizes include (based on a five ft. six in. person’s height):
- The 300 is 13 inches tall (1/5 body)
- The 750 is 23 inches tall (1/3 body)
- The 1500 is 43 inches tall (1/2 body)
- The MEGA is 66 inches tall (1 1/5 body: taller than you)
The PRO+ and PRO X are slightly larger than the ADAPT. The smaller the device, the more sessions you need to do to treat your body’s entire front and back. In this sense, the PRO and ADAPT lines are equal.
Wavelengths

Do you want to work on wrinkle reduction, getting rid of acne, or pain relief? The wavelengths determine what goals to reach for with your panel. The good news is that red and infrared wavelengths do most of the heavy lifting. A panel with only red and infrared can be a powerhouse. This is true for pain relief and aging skin care.

For acne, though, it’s best to add blue light to the mix. However, none of the Mito Red Light panels include blue light. You might consider these options if you seek blue and red light therapy for acne.
The MitoADAPT, MitoPRO+, and MitoPRO X use 630 nm, 660 nm, 810 nm, and 850 nm wavelengths. That’s code for two shades of red and two shades of infrared light.
Why two shades of red and two shades of infrared?
Multiple wavelengths might increase absorption. Scientists are still researching the question. But that’s the theory, anyway.

The MitoPRO+, MitoPRO X, and MitoADAPT models have two shades of red and two shades of infrared. The MitoPRO X adds a fifth light, which is 590 nm amber. Amber adds skin, bone, and longevity benefits to the MitoPRO X. Some of the effects of 590 nm amber light include that it:
- Improves bone health and reduces edema (s)
- Delays shortening of telomeres (s)
- Improves cell shape, proliferation, and proteins to support healing (s)
- Reduces sun-induced redness (s)
- Reduces laser-induced redness (s)
- Reduces unwanted pigmentation by reducing cell migration, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and stem cell factor (SGF). (s)
- Reduces rosacea lesions (s).
- Reduces wrinkle volume (s, s, s)
- Reduces symptoms of age-related macular degeneration (s, s, s)
- Reduces symptoms of early diabetic macular edema (s)
- Promotes hair growth (s)
- Profoundly speeds recovery from COVID-19 (s)
- Increases energy by increasing the number of useful mitochondria (s)
- Dilates blood vessels by increasing nitric oxide (s)
- Decreases inflammation (s)
- Promotes healing of surgical scars (s)
Otherwise, the three MIto Red LIght models are identical on the wavelength scale.
The MitoPRO X line is the only Mito Red Light panel with 590 nm light. All three models have red and infrared. This is a partial list of what those wavelengths can do:
- 630 nm, 660 nm, 810 nm, and 850 nm red and infrared light are used for wrinkles, lines, aging, acne, eczema, psoriasis, hyperpigmentation, dullness, and redness.
- The 810 and 850 also go deeper into the skin. They are useful for pain relief, muscle recovery after a workout, and energy enhancement. The infrared wavelengths absorb into more mitochondria, triggering the cells to make more energy packets that fuel healing.
Bottom line:
- The wavelengths across the three models are the same, except Mito X uses 590 nm as well.
- 590 nm amber is used for calming skin, extending lifespan, and improving energy.
- Adding a blue wavelength would be ideal for acne, but none of the Mito lights have it.
- Expect PRO+, PRO X, and ADVANCED to help with energy, wrinkles, acne (even without blue light), and pain relief.

When examining the Mito Red Light prices, the MitoADAPT is significantly more expensive than the MitoPRO+ and MitoPRO X. Looking at the full-body panels, the MitoPRO X is $200 more than the MitoPRO +. The MitoADAPT is $2300 more than the MitoPRO X. The MitoPRO X is $200 more than the MitoPRO+, adding the amber 590 nm light.
The Mito Red Light full body panel prices:
- The MitoADAPT MEGA is $4999
- The MItoPRO MegaX is $2699
- The MitoPRO Mega+ is $2499

Light Coverage
The more lights a panel has, the more light it can send you for healing. The MitoPRO MegaX shines 1200 LED chips to cover you in healing light. The MitoADAPT and MitoPRO+ have 720 and 600, respectively. The extra $200 for the MitoPRO X over the MitoPRO+, the X gives you the 590 nm amber light and 600 additional lights.
- MitoPRO Mega+:: 600 lights
- MitoPro MegaX:1200 lights
- MitoADAPT MEGA: 720 lights
