Two of my favorite brands for quality and good customer service are Nushape and Mito Red Light. Since I’m a fan of both companies,
I researched their red light therapy wraps to determine which is better.
The Mito Red LIght Therapy Belt is cheaper than the Nushape Lipo Wrap, and has more features.

Nushape Lipo Wrap vs. Mito Therapy Belt
Let’s compare the Nushape Lipo Wrap to the Mito Therapy Belt red light therapy wraps.
Lights
Nushape has 600 lights, which seems like a lot until you look at the Mito Therapy Belt’s 1,215!
The Mito Belt has 1,215 individual lights based on 415 triple-chip LEDs. That’s an insane amount of light, definitely more than any other wrap I’ve reviewed.
This is an advantage because it allows you get more light per session than with a wrap that has fewer lights.

Wavelengths
The Nushape Lipo Wrap emits 635 nm red and 850 nm infrared. The Mito Therapy Belt emits 660 nm and 850 nm.
There is no biological difference, and they’re both bioactive for fat burning.
The wavelengths of 660 nm and 850 nm are suitable for pain relief and wrinkle reduction.
Treatment Area
The Nushape treatment area is 20 x 5 in.
The Mito Belt treatment area is 21 x 5 in.
Irradiance
“Irradiance” is the measure of light that falls on the target at a given distance.
With pads and wraps, that distance is zero inches, because the device is right up against your skin.
Nushape says the Lipo Wrap’s irradiance is 37 mW/cm2 (37 milliwatts per squared centimeter). Mito Red Light says that the irradiance of the Belt is 10 mW/cm2 (10 milliwatts per squared centimeter).
The red light industry has a problem with irradiance. The manufacturers almost always use a meter that overstates the device’s irradiance.
But we can back into this number. I’ll show you how.
A dose is made of time plus irradiance.
Irradiance is made of energy plus distance.
Therefore, a dose of red light therapy is comprised of time + energy + distance.
The more time you spend with a device, the more light you get.
The closer you are to the lamp, the more light falls on the target.
So you can have a powerful device that you use for only two minutes; or a weak device that you use for an hour; and end up with the same “dose of light.”
You can have a powerful device that’s 8 feet away and get nowhere with your therapy progress.
Nushape and Mito Red Light instruct their users to use the wraps for 10 minutes, once a day.
The wrap is directly on the body, so the distance is zero inches in both cases.
This means each believes their light imparts a fat-burning amount of light in ten minutes.
That measurement is more useful than irradiance, which tends to be incorrectly reported.
The bottom line is that the Nushape irradiance is 3x greater than the Mito, assuming everyone measured with the same meter. So we can throw that over the shoulder and go with time and distance. Distance is zero inches and time is 10 minutes. If you get the same results at the same distance for the same length of time, then there’s a good chance that the devices have the same power.
Battery
Batteries are included with the Nushape and the Mito wraps. They’re are suitcase portable and allow you to walk around while doing the therapy.
Conclusion
The Nushape and MIto are basically equivalent in these areas:
- Treatment area size
- Irradiance (based on time per treatment)
- Wavelengths (good for fat burn and pain relief)
Mito beats Nushape on:
- The number of lights
- The price
- The return policy
Not because it’s better at fat burning, but for the convenience and price, the winner is the Mito Red Light Therapy Belt.
